Hope comes again
it’s been here before
its contours
shape
heft
is familiar
I feel the flutter
of its wings
as it approaches
swooping in slow
hesitation
and then
a quick change
return
it lands finally
in my heart
hope welcome home
every cell
rejoices
in its possibility
its vibrance
it brings with it
dreams of dew dropped mornings
shining petals of perfect flowers
glistening sands washed clean
by sparkling waves
the sun setting in glorious colors
again and again
hope whispers
fragility is the essence
its breath
barely a flutter
“I am here
always
even in the darkest night
but sometimes you don’t see me
hidden
in your fears and worries
but trust
look deep into my eyes
they are yours
trust
I will never leave”
and with that
hope takes flight
again
into a giant sky
a magnificent
scary real world
and I watch
until it disappears
hope
comes and goes
and yet
a whisper remains
a flutter of a leaf
falling to the ground
a wing of a hummingbird
resting now
folded tight
hidden
hope
a seed
underground
a tear not yet fallen
a laugh
just before
it bubbles to the surface
have hope
that hope returns
is always here
for the day is long
a sunset will come again
and sunrise will follow night
hope waits
patiently at the door
to be let in
open
your arms
your heart
to hope
I am
hopeful
for hope.
I love this, Freya! It’s so… well… hopeful.
