You rise up today
a gift
a melody
from deep inside
what I need
to counter
fear and worry
the grey skies
I love
wrap me up
let the rain fall
washing clean
but sadness lies there too
small kernels
memories of loss
a time when so many
lost so much
I wait
again
and recall
the other waitings
trust I call
as the hawk
dips and sways in the wind
a sound
and patience
in the seed
blue and purple native grass
underground
for a sprout
a beginning
trust and patience.
