This poem was written a few weeks ago after a trip to the mountains. In it, I try to express the way we are all part of our families, our histories, and also the world around us as we live in it. Also, a continuing theme that even with the cracks and fissures in our souls, we are still whole beings. I hope you enjoy. Smiles, Freya
I am whole
My pieces
come together
fit in
one
I am whole
there are lines
bumps
bits and pieces
but
all together
I am whole
my being
a shiny
globe
a precious bud
the breath
of air on a
crystal
morning
a contented sigh
after a long
full day
the space between
when you rest
or let your
eyes wander
to find the
bird in flight
I am whole
here
now
my life
this moment
these plans
the future
the past
rumbling up from behind
skipping ahead into
the unknown
walking this path
I embrace
the solidity
of me
my identity
unique
my family
the one I come from
the one I am creating
distant relatives
from long ago
so far away
and yet a part
of my history
my story
is still
being written
my song
I hum
I dance
my thoughts
spiral
in the light of day
or under thick dark clouds
or amongst trees
shhhhh….. muffled snow
crystal clear night stars
my thoughts
come back to me
and I know
I am whole.
